Awe Moment #4

Before you scroll down and read this post please watch the video below!

WOW! Everytime I watch this dance I get the chills alllllll over! Even if you aren't interested in dance this video will have an impact on you. The first time I saw this dance I got tears in my eyes because I felt bad for people who have to fight an addiction. Now, I can relate to those people. Personally I have not had a dangerous addiction, but my dad has. He has been fighting it for a couple years and the fight still continues. I watched his addiction with alcohal slowly take over. It not only had an affect on him, but it affected our whole family. Addictions can ruin relationships, break up homes and families, and possibly take lives. Watching somebody you love trying to fight an addiction is heart breaking. You see them have so much hope and take the right steps to change. It seems like once you see them progress something sucks them back into the bad habit. I want to help so badly but there's only so much I can do. It is a battle they have to conquer and I think it is one of the hardest battles there is. I have been thinking about my dad and his addiction a lot this past week and I was flipping through the channels on t.v. and this dance was on. It is so powerful and is a great interpretation of how an addiction takes over your body and soul. In the end, she fights the addiction even though it was a tramendous struggle. I truely hope my dad and others facing addictions are able to overcome their addictions and find happiness.

Coming across videos, songs, or pictures that relate to what you are going through in that moment pop up for a reason. They remind us we aren't the only ones going through hard times and there is light at the end of the tunnel. These things that touch us for reasons we cannot explain are definitely AWE MOMENTS.
